Branksome Park sits just south of Westbourne with the Avenue cutting down through it to the coast at Branksome Chine beach. It’s a short, easy drive to the clinic via the LV roundabout, through Westbourne and down Prince of Wales Road to Branksome Wood Road and over the traffic lights at Glenferness Avenue, and then we’re the turning on your right. On foot, allow around 40 minutes: follow the same route up towards Poole Road, then cut through the Dingle and Bournemouth Gardens and you’ll come out at the bottom of our road. By bus, the number 36 stops at Glenferness Avenue Bottom. There’s free parking directly outside on the driveway if you’re driving.

Branksome Park, our leafy, affluent suburb of Poole, sits nestled between Canford Cliffs and Bournemouth with large leafy plots and mature gardens, tree lined roads and its scenic wooded valley bring a distinctive pattern of patients for treatment at my clinic. I see a lot of back and shoulder strain from maintaining grounds and gardens and the general upkeep on a sloped, wooded plots. The woodland walks through Branksome Chine also bring a stream of walkers and dog owners with hip, knee or ankle strain from the area’s uneven, root-covered paths., and regulars at the Branksome Bowling Green and Tennis Courts on Leicester Road, right at the top of the chine, bring their own share of tennis elbow and shoulder strain too. The beach itself is Blue Flag and popular with open water morning swimming groups, so shoulder strain from regular swimmers is another familiar pattern and with the municipal BBQs along the prom and Rockwater drawing people down for a bite afterwards, it’s become a local hub rather than just a beach to pass through. And with Branksome Park being such a long-settled, established neighbourhood, popular with retirees, I see a fair number of residents managing ongoing joint changes and general mobility as much as new injuries.
I’m Leslie Budzynski, a GCC-registered chiropractor (No. 00043) and BCA member (No. 0072) with 39 years of clinical experience. I qualified from what’s now Health Sciences University (then AECC) in 1987, and ran my own practice and satellite clinics in London before moving to Bournemouth in 2000. Bournemouth Chiropractic is a single-practitioner clinic — I see and treat every patient myself, at every appointment.
My fees are straightforward. I charge £75 for the initial consultation, examination and first treatment; £65 for follow-up appointments. Everything about my price structure is explained in detail on my rates page, there are no hidden extras and I do not encourage buying blocks of treatments in advance., you simply pay as you go along.
Your first visit is longer because it includes taking your full medical history and conducting an orthopaedic examination as well as treatment, so runs at around 45 minutes. Subsequent visits last approximately 30 minutes.
I aim to be able to offer you an appointment within 48 hours or less. The clinic is open Monday to Friday, 7.30am–6pm, and Saturdays 7.30am–3pm with no GP referral needed , you can book direct using the online diary or call 01202 937568.
It is very possible that your sport could be to blame for your shoulder pain. Repetitive overhead movement, whether it’s front crawl or paddling, puts strain through the rotator cuff , and it’s a pattern I see in patients who are active down at the beach. Worth having it properly assessed rather than just resting and hoping it settles.
